In Pain? Think of Homeopathy

I have heard a lot about prescription drug abuse in the news lately. The biggest news is that Ottawa has decided not to prevent generic OxyContin from entering Canada. This is making medical professionals concerned that addiction rates will rise.

This Nov. 20 CTV News article discusses the national situation; It says, “Ontario Health Minister Deb Matthews was among the provincial health ministers championing calls to block the production of the generic drug. In her view, the emergence of an Oxy alternative would be “tragic,” leading to widespread abuse all over again.”

Painkiller addiction is also passed on from mother to newborn. This February CTV News article says, “Experts are reporting that mothers are among the increasing number of Canadians who are becoming dependent on opiates such as OxyContin, Percocet and Percodan, and when they become pregnant, their babies inherit their addiction… the drug travels from mother to baby through the placenta… some women have been prescribed the opiates for pain, while others are taking the drug illicitly… This is an increasing problem and an important problem, and a problem that has not been on the radar for the public.” All this news made me think of Homeopathy because it is an effective alternative to prescription painkillers!

The Canadian Centre on Substance Abuse made a statement on “New federal licensing rules regarding diversion of controlled release formulations of oxycodone products” on November 20th. This statement included the following reference to holistic medicine,

“The challenge before the National Advisory Council and all Canadians is to recognize the importance of … providing alternative holistic approaches to care where possible…”

Homeopathy is a safe and non-addictive tool to help people who are living with pain. Here are just afew examples of the many Homeopathic remedies which can help:

– Arnica has been known to not only help with the pain, but it also eases the mental affects of injuries resulting from concussions that are many, many years old.

– Hypericum has been a great remedy for nerve damage.

– Symphytum has a long history of helping people who are suffering from pain from an amputation. It also is known to help the healing of cracked or broken bones.
