Do you have chronic headaches? I love this excerpt from Breda Gardner’s article, “Natural Healing”. If you get a headache, give her suggestions a try!
“When I see patients in my clinics, I often recommend using homeopathic remedies, breathing and exercise to treat the headaches. Of course, if you have any worries about a persistent headache, you should consult with a registered medical professional.
There are many homeopathic remedies that can help with headaches. As ever, choosing the right remedy is all about observing the symptoms:
– For a throbbing and violent headache after a fright or a shock, try Aconite.
– For a throbbing headache in the back of the head, eyes, forehead and temples, worst for light and for bending over, try Belladonna.
– For a headache brought on by grief, fright or anger, and which feels like a thousand little hammers are knocking in your head, try Nat Mur.
In all cases, use a 30 potency, morning and evening for two weeks. It is safe to take homeopathic remedies alongside your orthodox medicine. . .
Headaches are often a warning sign that our bodies are out of balance. Sometimes, headaches are caused by too much high energy in our heads from worrying or fears. In some respects, our heads are like channel of elimination. When we feel good in ourselves, we relax, breathe easily and feel like life is going our way. We positively sense the good energy and vitality within every cell of our body.
There is a presence within our body called the “life force” that we breathe in our first breath when we are born. It is the life force that we are breathing now. When we breathe in awareness, we are fully present in our bodies. We can choose our own energy within our bodies. We can choose to breathe deeply and be relaxed, or we can choose to do fear and worry, which in turn will cause us to breathe with shallow breaths, blocking our energy flow in the body.
If we had a timer in our bodies that went off hourly to remind us to take three deep breaths, we would all be working positively on our natural state of health and well-being. This natural state of well-being take the form of unbelievable peace, harmony and love that reside within us.
So connect now, take three deep breaths regularly, just stop, close your eyes, tell yourself to relax, let go of any thoughts, and focus deeply on the inside of your body for a few minutes. The more you do this exercise, the body benefits, the headaches ease and the presence of inner peace and love will arise within you.
Finally, in many cases exercise can help to create a balanced energy in the body and that balance is effective against headaches. Simply having a break, going for a walk and taking in some fresh air can often cure a headache. Dancing and yoga are other forms of exercise that can help to restore balance in the body. It’s worth experimenting to see what works best for you!”
